Transforming Healthcare: Our Non-Profit Vision for Tomorrow
ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Impact Health-The Gambia (IHTG) has identified the exceptional fragility of the healthcare system in The Gambia, especially compared to other countries in the West African sub-region. The severe scarcity of basic healthcare resources poses significant challenges for dedicated healthcare professionals striving to provide exceptional patient care. In response, IHTG recognized the urgent need to support public hospitals by providing crucial medical supplies, fostering a quality improvement mindset, and delivering comprehensive training for mental health and addiction services. These initiatives aim to alleviate the burdens on The Gambia’s healthcare system.
Commitment to Global Health
The primary beneficiaries of IHTG’s impactful initiatives are individuals with limited financial capabilities, who often struggle to afford high-quality services from private or for-profit healthcare providers. In 2022, IHTG’s Founder and CEO personally witnessed the overwhelming challenges faced by the healthcare system in The Gambia. The delivery of various medical supplies to public hospitals evoked heartfelt appreciation from the public, highlighting the profound impact of IHTG’s contributions.
IHTG is fully committed to extending its services to multiple public hospitals across The Gambia. However, the organization recognizes that transparency and accountability must be integral to all its engagements with stakeholders in the country. As a nonprofit organization, public confidence in IHTG’s operations is crucial for the sustainability of its initiatives.
